Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Always Stick To Your Type

Let’s talk stereotypes….

The best looking man is tall, dark, and handsome.

The best looking woman is a petite blonde with big boobs.

Am I right?

Now, just because that’s the stereotypical “hot couple,” does not mean that that’s what everyone is interested in. You might like sporty guys, nerdy girls, gamer guys, or preppy girls. We all have a “type” or “types” that we’re generally attracted to, but when you’re single and looking at potential partners, you shouldn’t pass up all the tall girls or all the blonde guys. Get to know them for who they are. You never know… you could end up happily married to the person you never would have imagined yourself with.

One of the ways I knew that my man was “the one” was when I suddenly realized that my boyfriend is a husky guy and I had never really noticed, nor had I ever cared that he wasn’t the type I usually went for. I’d never been with a guy who wasn’t considered thin before, but I found that I absolutely love my boyfriend’s body. I look at my boyfriend and think he’s the sexiest, most handsome guy I’ve ever seen in my life. I ignored the physical aspects and I gave him a chance and found the love of my life. I wouldn’t care if he gained weight, or worked to get the six pack back that he had in high school. He is who he is and I love him for that.

The point of this is just a reminder… he/she might not look like your “type,” but if you just give them a chance, you never know what could come out of it. Forget having a type, we’re all human beings. It’s true when they say that it’s the inside that counts.

What is your type? Is your boyfriend or girlfriend in that category, or did you fall for someone who was the complete opposite?
